Horizons Installation
"Horizons 2014" was a site-specific perspectival installation completed over two days in August 2014. The installation comprised of strips of white surveyor's tape applied to a group of redwood trees in such a way it created the illusion of a line extending from a small portion of the visible horizon line. The illusion could only be experienced when the visitor was seated on a low stump, also wrapped in white surveyor's tape. This piece was inspired by the location and the mathematical concept of the horizon, and its material deliberately referenced the phenomenon of trees being marked for logging.
